Raku Firings

In Raku, it only takes one day to complete a whole glaze firing! In the ancient japanese technique, you rocket the kiln up to 1945 degrees with propane and then take the pottery out with raku tongs and drop it into a metal trash can filled with sawdust to flame and smoke to create a metallic sheen on the pots as all the oxygen is eaten up. Although not food safe, it is a great conversational piece for your home!
