Intermediate / Advanced Pottery with Adam

Join us for hand building and wheel throwing projects!

This class will help you find the potter within…individual instruction with inspiration and insight, to help you grow as a potter.

This course is a guided independent study format. I meet with each student individually each night and provide individualized instruction and demonstrations that are tailored to the student’s specific interests. I also offer a variety of optional group project type demonstrations if I feel that the group could use some work in a particular area. If students aren’t sure what type of work they want to make I do a variety of exercises to help you to take aim at your interests.

I have experience in many different areas of ceramics and I am comfortable teaching most forming and decorating techniques. Some examples of techniques you can study in this course include all aspects of wheel throwing and altered forms, all aspects of hand building, slab construction, templates, mold making, surface work both in clay and glaze, glaze trailing and wax resist, brush decorating, tile making, and sculpture. Some experience in clay is required for this class. Join us!
