Beginning/Intermediate Wheel Throwing
(includes 25 pounds of reclaim clay) Fee: $220 These classes are for students with no clay experience as well as those with several classes under their belt. Using stoneware clay we will teach you to create a variety of projects including functional as well as decorative pottery.Basic handbuilding skills will be taught including use of the slab roller. Date: March 9th-April 27th(Tuesday Evenings) Time: 6:30-9:30 pm (8 sessions) Instructor: Deborah Benedetto Date: March 11th-April 29th (Thurs Evenings) Time: 6:30– 9:30 pm (8 sessions) Instructor: Josh Duttinger Date: March 13th-may 1st(Sat Mornings) Time: 9:30 am– 12:30 pm (8 sessions) Instructor: Brooke Millecchia Advanced Pottery Making (Wheel and Handbuilding) (includes 25 pounds of reclaim clay) Fee: $120 This class will provide an opportunity for students to explore their own ideas through an independent study class format. Individualized demonstrations and lots of one on one help will be very helpful for students striving to develop their own voice or coherent body of work. Date: April 7th-April 28th Time: 6:00-9:00 pm (4 sessions) Instructor: Adam Spector Art for Home and Garden Handbuilding and Sculpture Fee:$120 (Includes 25# of reclaim) Learn to use the slab roller and extruder to create coil, slab and sculpture projects for your home and garden. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED Date:April 6th-27th(Tues Afternoons) Time: 1-4 pm (4 sessions) Instructor: Carol Bell Spring Workshops Soda Firing Class Fee:TBA Here is a great opportunity to explore yet another atmospheric firing process ! In this class you will making pots on or off wheel, making decorating slips and attending a kiln loading in Honeoye Falls. You will also have the opportunity to witness the “Salting of the Kiln” while your unique pieces are being fired to Cone 10 in a Propane Gas kiln. Dates: March 10th-31st (Wednesday Evenings) Time: 6:30-9:30 pm (4 sessions) Instructor: Shelle Chentow On and Off Wheel Systems Workshop w/ Peter Pincus Fee: $75 Exploring different processes that offer alternatives to the wheel’s natural symmetry this demonstrational workshop will go from basic sketch of a pot to finished piece. Incorporating multiple on wheel and off wheel systems, such as mold making, extruding, throwing sections, slump-molding and various other techniques. Peter will stretch clay and your imagination in this not to be missed experience/workshop. Date: March 13th 1-5 & March 14th 1-4 Precious Metal Clay/Porcelain Bead Workshop Jewelry Making Workshop w/ Brooke Millecchia Fee:$75 Learn the basics of this amazing way to create beautiful sterling silver jewelry. Using rolling, stamping and handbuilding techniques make a pendant and pair of earrings of your own design (supplies inc.) Extra PMC will be available at an extra cost. Date: April 11th (Saturday) Time: 1-5pm Clay Birdhouse Workshop for Parent & Child w/ Carol Bell Fee:$35 Come built a fine abode for our feathered friends with your child. Learn basic slab clay construction and have tons of fun and make a really cool clay birdhouse for your yard. Date: April 24th Time: 1-4pm FYI...Dates to Save and other School Happenings “Empty Bowls” Annual Throw-A-Thon Pot Luck will be Saturday March 6th 4-9pm Its that time again EMPTY BOWLS Throw a Thon. Bring a dish to pass, BYOB and help us make 200 bowls or just come to watch. 16th Annual Summer Camp Fair Eastview Mall –March 14th 11am-6pm 2010 Summer Kids Clay Camp will be offering 6 weeks of fun with instructors Kaitlyn Kelsey and Danielle Pagani, both Ceramics Majors at Alfred University. Adult Classes Information: Pottery Classes include 25 lbs of reclaim clay. First 20 pounds of pots fired free then $1.25 per lb. *Open Studio on Sundays from 12-5 pm. *8-piece tool sets are $12 and available at your first class. *Adults classes available for ages 13 and up. *Please note all make-up classes must be done during your session. * Our Classes are Limited to 10 Students ... Open Studio Sundays "Extended Hours" More time to come and play in the clay 12-5pm
This time is for any enrolled adult student to come in and practice throwing, do some hand building, glaze some pots or just hang out. We also welcome visitors to stop by, tour the studio/classroom and meet us.
Our studio is equipped with 8 potter's wheels, a 30" wide Bailey Slab Roller, a tile press, a custom-built 30lb capacity clay extruder, and much more. Our studio work is fired at Come 6 stoneware in oxidation. Studio Rental Space is now available! |
