Raku

"New" Into to Wheel Throwing
(includes 12# clay and a tool set)
Fee: $110
This Class is for beginners...with NO experience. Be guided through the steps of working on the wheel to glazing your pots.
Session 1: June 1-24th (Thursday Evening)
Session 2: July 8th-29th (Thursday Evening)
Session 3: August 5th-26th (Thursday Evening)

Beginning/Intermediate Wheel Throwing
(includes 25 pounds of reclaim clay)
Fee: $220
These classes are for students with no clay experience as well as those with several classes under their belt. Using stoneware clay we will teach you to create a variety of projects including functional as well as decorative pottery.Basic handbuilding skills will be taught including use of the slab roller.

Date: July 6th- August 24th (Tuesday Evenings)
Time: 6:30-9:30 pm (8 sessions)

Advanced Pottery Making (Wheel and Handbuilding)
(includes 25 pounds of reclaim clay)
Fee: $220.00
This class will provide an opportunity for students to explore their own ideas through an independent study class format. Individualized demonstrations and lots of one on one help will be very helpful for students striving to develop their own voice or coherent body of work.

Advanced Pottery Techniques

He's Back...Pincus fans unite for a wild summer pottery experience...8 weeks long. Its worht taking vacation days to come and play in the clay with Peter. Includes #25 clay.

Learn to create cool clay artworks for your Home and Garden. Summer Adult Workshops

Raku Workshop
We will do:
Naked Raku-Pots coated with Terra Sigillata are coated with a refractory glaze then fired in our outdoor kilns to 1325 degrees. The red hot pots are smoked in wood shavings painting gorgeous designs.
Horsehair Rake-Burnished pots are pulled from the kiln at 1000 degrees and painted with horsetail hair "brushes" to create unbelievable results.
Hot Raku-Bringing the kiln up to 2000 degrees to get crazy metallic's and luster. Includes 15 pounds of clay and materials.

Mold Making Workshop
3 Part Molds & Slip Casting

Working in small groups,Peter will walk you through the process of casting plaster to create a simple 3-part mold system for making cups. On the second day you will use Peter's pre-existing molds to play with casting slip and learn to cast clay cups.

June 5th & 6th
The seconds and student sale continues....what is left from the open house will be sold at the festival. We need students to sign up to come over and help out with sales, throwing pots and representing the school. It is a great opportunity to show off your works of art, make a little cash and have fun with fellow students.

Adult Classes Information:
Pottery Classes include 25 lbs of reclaim clay. First 20 pounds of pots fired free then $1.75 per lb.
          *Open Studio on Sundays from 12-5 pm.
          *8-piece tool sets are $12 and available at your first class.
          *Adults classes available for ages 13 and up.
          *Please note all make-up classes must be done during your session.
          * Our Classes are Limited to 10 Students ... So Register early!

Open Studio Sundays     /      Come & Play
          Open Studio Sundays "Extended Hours" More time to come and play in the clay 12-5pm
This time is for any enrolled adult student to come in and practice throwing, do some hand building, glaze some pots or just hang out. We also welcome visitors to stop by, tour the studio/classroom and meet us.

Studio Information
          Our studio is equipped with 8 potter's wheels, a 30" wide Bailey Slab Roller, a tile press, a custom-built 30lb capacity clay extruder, and much more. Our studio work is fired at Come 6 stoneware in oxidation. Studio Rental Space is now available!
